We climbed up the hill to Goatstone Pond, taking in Bronze Age cairns, stone rows and a cist.  Then we contoured along the hillside to the war time radio location station on Peek Hill (RAF Sharpitor), and considered the reasons behind the DPA’s purchase of land at Sharpitor.  We walked along the ridge to Sharpitor, taking in some more Bronze Age remains, particularly on the north side of the tor. We found three of the five boundary stones marking out DPA land, before returning to the cars in time for lunch.
