Long time DPA member, Geoff Cook, and his friend Andy Hurn run a small wine tasting circle for their own enjoyment. When a friend recently suggested that they might like to run a wine tasting evening as a bit of fun for the village they agreed and thought it would be an excellent way to raise money for charities close to their hearts.

As Dartmoor has given both of them, and their families, so much pleasure during their lives they decided to make the DPA one of the selected charities.

You can see there was an excellent turnout and a lot of fun was had over the course of the evening.

Geoff said ” The event was more about creating an enjoyable evening for local residents, rather than fund raising, but we rather surprised ourselves with the amount people were prepared to spend while doing so!” They raised a total of £350 over the course of the evening, of which £175 has been donated to the DPA.

What a great way to spend a convivial evening with friends and raise money to keep Dartmoor the special place that we all love.

We are very grateful to Geoff and Andy for thinking of the DPA and to the people of Cornwood whose generosity has helped the DPA.
