Our bracken bashing team have been joined by a team from Everything Everywhere today out on Sharpitor. They have come up from Plymouth for a corporate volunteering day and will be using their muscles and energy to help keep Dartmoor special.
Sharpitor, the first big tor that you pass coming up onto the moor from Yelverton, is part of a Premier Archaeological Landscape. This means it has significant Bronze Age archaeological sites which tend to disappear under bracken at this time of year unless it is kept under control.
The weather has been kind today so I’m hoping that our visiting volunteers will have had a good time as well as helping out with some much needed work. I’m sure there will be some cake and a drink for them at the end of the day to say thank you for all their hard work.
