Life on Dartmoor changes throughout the year and this morning on my way to work I noticed that white minibus season is in full swing. This happens every year when the school exam season has finished.  White  minibuses full of school students, of all ages, suddenly appear in car parks all over the moor.

There are field trips, letterboxing trips and of course Duke of Edinburgh award expeditions. It reminds me of my favourite Dartmoor tweet, which was posted one very soggy and inhospitable day a couple of years ago. It just read “Oh Duke of Ed – why are you doing this to me!”. So much feeling and such a dejected picture conjured up in so few words. I’ve always hoped the expedition improved and the tweeter felt it was worth it in the end.
