The volunteers must have been good as they had a surprise visitor to their workday at Raddick last Wednesday, 7th December. Santa arrived bearing gifts of mulled wine and mince pies.
He even offered to help.
Before his arrival, 12 busy volunteers had been clearing the remaining cairns in the cairn field and making pathways to connect them.
We were pleased to locate cairn B that had been recorded many years ago by Sandy Gerrard but lost under the vegetation.
Thank you to all who worked so hard all day. There is still further work to do, so we will be returning in the new year.
Many thanks to Santa (aka Adam Sparkes) for ending our day in such an amusing way. Few will forget the sight of a figure in red striding across the moors to see us! We enjoyed the warming wine and mince pies too.
