Nineteen members of the DPA enjoyed a very nice walk around Runnage Farm, led by farmer Phil Coaker, on 14th August.  Phil showed us various features, including his flock of Whiteface Dartmoor sheep, hay meadow and herd of South Devon cattle (including the bull known as Big Tone).   They also have a herd of ponies on the open moor.  We also saw the camping field and bunkhouse and other facilities for visitors.   Runnage Farm also sells lamb, beef and sheepskin rugs of the highest quality (see Runnage Camping Barns). The walkabout was followed by enormous pasties (from Dartmoor Farmers Limited), fancy cakes and cups of tea provided by Christine and Phil Coaker in one of the barns.
