Devon Live, an online news site, has reported an act of vandalism,
after graffiti was sprayed on a rock at Sharpitor. We believe that it
occurred on land owned by the DPA, although owing to the current travel
restrictions, we have not yet been able to verify this.
We are exploring the best way of removing it and will take appropriate action once
restrictions are relaxed sufficiently to allow us to access the site.
Aside from the difficulty and expense of removing the spray paint, this
is an affront to those people who want to enjoy the tranquillity and
special qualities of our National Park. The Dartmoor National Park
Authority has been made aware of this deplorable act.
