In September 2021, the Dartmoor National Park Authority announced that it will be revising Dartmoor’s byelaws and announced that a public consultation on its draft proposals was underway.

The DPA has reviewed these proposals and feel that in a number of areas the amendments are unacceptable. We have submitted a response to this effect on the DNPA’s online survey. However, the survey only allows comments relating to the specific changes that are proposed by the Authority. We feel that it is too restrictive to take the approach of just considering new byelaws in isolation from the rest of the existing ones and we have therefore submitted, below, a complete response to all of them.
