Six DPA volunteers spent two days receiving an introduction to stone walling from tutor Martin Stallard

The roadside wall at Pudsham Meadows was in need of repair

Firstly we had to take down the loose stonework

Then the rebuilding commenced – levering a large stone into place

That section completed

In some spots only the top stones needed replacing

Rain was short-lived and didn’t stop play

A small team did wonders with the tumbled down corner where the sheep had easy access

Putting the finishing touches….
There is still work to be done on this wall. We hope to continue to use what we have learnt, both at Pudsham and other sites.
